From June 16 to 18, Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Architectural Technology (JSVIAT) hosted the opening ceremony of the 2025 “ASEAN Diplomats in China – Jiangsu Vocational Education Tour” and the China–ASEAN Vocational Education Exchange Conference. The event was co-organized by the China-ASEAN Center, China Education Association for International Exchange, and guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.
Diplomats from six ASEAN countries — Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, and the Philippines — attended the event, alongside leaders from Jiangsu vocational institutions. Opening speeches were delivered by Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun of the China-ASEAN Center, Ms. Cui Chunxia from the Jiangsu Department of Education, and JSVIAT Party Secretary Zhu Dongfeng.
The conference showcased JSVIAT’s achievements in ASEAN cooperation, including the enrollment of over 1,100 ASEAN students, five overseas campuses, and flagship programs such as the Zheng He Institute and the China–ASEAN Vocational Education Integration Community. Discussions highlighted opportunities for joint talent training, standard setting, and faculty exchange.
During the weeklong tour, diplomats visited vocational colleges and high-tech enterprises in Xuzhou and Yangzhou, gaining insights into Jiangsu’s innovations in vocational education and international collaboration. The visit further deepened ties between China and ASEAN in vocational education, talent development, and cross-border cooperation.
